approach

Two hands holding a stone heart with a blurry outdoor background.

In the client-practitioner relationship, we are in partnership.

Together, we’ll explore your life experience as it lives in you. I trust in the wisdom of your body and will follow your lead.

I will provide a safe and compassionate space where I’ll offer processes and practices that grow your capacity to feel and listen more deeply, in service of what you care about.

We’ll move at a cadence that feels safe, relevant, practical and with consent. Expect to move out of your comfort zone.

Sessions can happen virtually or in-person. If you’d like to learn more, please reach out for a free initial consultation.

I’m grateful and committed to sharing this path of joy, healing and liberation.

  • 1:1 somatic coaching is a partnership where we explore what's important to you, how your life’s journey and social conditions have shaped you, and what needs to change in order for you to move toward what you want to experience and who you want to be in the world.

Initially, a coaching session might look like traditional therapy. We start with a dialogue about how you’re showing up and what you’d like to focus on. We'll then turn to noticing qualities of the sensations throughout the body and mind.

Based on what surfaces and always with consent, we’ll address what arises by catering and integrating processes and practices rooted in the Strozzi Institute somatic methodology and other modalities that inform my practice.

These techniques expose what’s happening in your conscious, unconscious and visceral experience, which expresses itself as yearnings, aversions, impulses, habits, constriction, temperature, emotions, images, feelings and more.

Every session is impactful. Outcomes will be tangible. Your somatic competencies will grow and deepen.

Success of this work depends on one's level of commitment both in and out of sessions.

  • Somatic bodywork is a direct path for deepening into one’s felt sense. I offer a safe, attuned and warm presence where clients can learn to gain greater access to the intelligence of their visceral experience.

Bodywork is particularly supportive to clients who have difficulty in "dropping in" to sensations.

Clients who relate to this might define themselves as "heady" or "intellectual" or as having trauma histories that impacted their ability to resource safety because it wasn't safe to feel.

A bodywork session starts with dialogue about what’s present for the client and what they want to explore in session.

Then we move to the actual bodywork portion which involves the client being full clothed, reclined face-up, on a massage table.

I guide the client into specific breathing patterns that help to oxygenate the tissues and bring about relaxation and awareness to sensations in the body and mind. I apply touch to specific pressure points on the body.

    Somatic bodywork is not massage.

Bodywork sessions can also happen virtually. I will invite the client to position themselves in a way that feels conducive for their body and their space, always fully clothed.

I will provide ways of applying self-touch to areas that hold different qualities like constriction, pain, pressure, numbness. Giving time and space to clients to notice and process.

Sessions close with reflection about insights gleaned, how they relate to what the client is working towards and how to integrate these into daily life.

  • Group work offers a unique, potent and intentional space for people to absorb and process their learnings as individuals and as witnesses to the collective body. This work typically involves rigorous practices, partner and small group engagement, reflection and some presentation of the methodology.

If you’re interested in collaborating, please reach out. I'm passionate about partnering with individuals and organizations committed to transformational change work.

  • Sessions run between 1hr - 90mins. I offer a scale of $100-175. Clients typically propose a rate based on frequency, length of session and financial circumstances. Please consider The Green Bottle tool developed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk, for assessing what is economically sound for you.
