Kristin sitting in tree

My somatic practice is shaped by 25+ years of professional and creative endeavors, spiritual practice and therapeutic explorations in traditional and alternative modalities.

These paths of healing, spirit and body-mindfulness gave me life. They provided tangible, experiential truths that kept, and continue to keep, me thriving in our wonderous and heartbreaking world.

I’m a biracial (black/white) cisgender woman. I grew up in Oregon as an only child to a single-parent as the product of the first generation of fully legal interracial marriages in our country. This had a profound impact on my identity shaping, the traumas I would experience and my coping strategies.

Body-mind and somatic methods offered more than just a safe space to reflect. They helped me to realize and integrate aspects of myself that were unconsciously driving me and keeping me stuck in cycles of abandoning my own dignity. Now I’m able to live from a place of conscious choice and empowerment, unapologetically. I feel more at home in my body. This is what I want for my clients. Freedom from pain embodied.

I bring these learnings to my client work as a Strozzi- trained certified somatic coach and bodyworker, and an informed practitioner of the Internal Family Systems®, with a background in DEI learning, organizational change, social services and the arts.

I’m based in Portland, Oregon and work with clients globally, virtually and in person.

When I’m not focused on work, I’m usually in the Willamette National Forest or hanging with friends in Brooklyn NY or making soup.

testimonials

“My sessions with Kristin were amazing and provocative. Each hour I spent with her had the impact of weeks of talk therapy — often leaving me tearful yet more holistically connected to all versions of myself. Her toolkit is varied and vast, pulling from embodiment work and other modalities to evoke deep revelations and releases, contributing deeply to my goal of wanting to regroup and recenter amid a huge life crisis. I highly recommend her.”

“I am very grateful for the chance to collaborate with Kristin and learn from the Somatic integration practice. It has helped me to become more aware of my body's voice, my past experiences that shaped me, and a conscious plan for my own personal growth with specific results.”
